Programme Investments

We invest strategically in Africa according to our ability to make a sizeable impact on a country’s malaria burden. We work through partners on the ground to support ‘National Malaria Control Programme’ plans and goals. To date our partnerships have supported net distribution and malaria education campaigns in Ghana, Botswana and Namibia helping to protect over five million people from malaria.

Botswana

Over half of Botswana’s population is at risk from malaria but despite this burden, the country has succeeded in cutting malaria deaths by 87% since 2000. We are supporting Botswana in its ambition to become malaria free. You can read more about our work in Botswana on www.malarianomore.org.uk.

Ghana

Ghana’s entire population of 24 million is at risk from malaria. The disease accounts for a third of all hospital admissions and is a leading cause of death amongst young children. We are supporting Ghana’s goal to cover every person with a mosquito net by the end of 2012 and to make sure everyone has access to life saving malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment by 2015. Namibia

Namibia has made fighting malaria a top health priority and seen a dramatic 95% drop in malaria deaths since 2000. We are supporting the country in its bid to become malaria free by 2020. You can read more about the programme we are investing in on www.malarianomore.org.uk.
